The International Copper Association's Technology Development and Transfer initiative develops ways to improve the use of copper in existing applications and creates new applications for copper.
Our team works with leading scientists, engineers and business professionals from academia, government, the copper industry and copper end-use industries. We provide technical and market insights, targeted funding and global access to key decision makers to transform new ideas into practical applications. Once a copper technology is developed, we offer assistance to our partners to apply this technology to actual solutions and support their early-stage market promotion activities. We partner with leading organizations to undertake market investigations and construct a business case that supports broad market adoption.
Our key objective is to transfer technology advances to copper fabricators and end-product manufacturers for the benefit of the copper industry, our members, and society. Our goal is to defend and grow markets for copper based on its superior technical performance and its contribution to a higher quality of life worldwide.
With our Technology Program Proposal Call (TPPC) researchers are able to submit creative proposals describing ideas for new copper applications or better ways to use copper in existing products.
